Is there a lot of flexibility at your school in changing majors?

At Cal Poly SLO, there is not a lot of flexibility in changing majors. Since applicants are accepted based on their major choice and are essentially “declared” for their majors on day one, there are many prerequisites to switch majors. Switching to impacted majors require a high minimum GPA and also an interview with an academic advisor. Although it is a long process, switching majors is not impossible.

Do you regret not being able to take any classes to prepare for your major? What classes would you recommend Gregori students to take based off of your major?

As an engineering major, Gregori did not offer much experience to me. Although classes at Gregori such as STEM or Physics provide practical, hands-on assignments, there are many schools outside of Modesto that offer engineering classes to their students. It is important to note that many engineer majors from Gregori go to college with much less experience than others, so they will be working uphill initially. However, Gregori has many AP classes for their students which helps students prepare for the rigorous work in college.
